This is announcing The 6th International Conference on Niger Delta-Nigeria.

Niger Delta is the richest part of Nigeria in terms of natural resources.The area lies in the coastal region of Nigeria with large Oil and Gas Deposits,as well as extensive forest,good agricultural land and abundant other natural resources.

This era of Democracy has provided fresh oppurtunity for sober reflections on some Economic and Political Development affecting this Oil Rich region of Nigeria.The Rivers Economic Forum in the past years has on a number of occassions,fashioned our interventionist policies by way of Workshops,Seminars,Citizens Forum,Parley and Consultions with all stakeholders on the Niger Delta Project.

This year Conference begings on 3rd-5th November 2004,at the Obi Wali'Integrated Cultural Center in the heart of PortHarcourt,the centre of the Niger Delta Hydro cabon,beginning from 9.00 Am each day.
The 6th International Conference will also critically look at problems of conflicts within the region and profering solutions,as a way of attracting foriegn investment to the region.

Some of the objectives to the Conference includes;
To ducument and examine the multi-facet socio-economic and political problems of the Niger Delta region,as well as proffer solutions on them.

*To initiate programmes for capacity-building and skill development in critical areas of conflicts within the region.

*Resolutions,Integration,International Co-operation,Trade and Investment.

*To cultivate and expand strategic relationship with the international Community in order to stimulate growth and investment.

*To fashion out effective and result-oriented strategies of involving the grassroot in resource management and empowerment of the grassroot.

*To come-out with a work-plan for sustainable peacefull co-existence between and among various communities and Companies operating in the region.

*To identify diverse investment oppurtunities in the region and canvass the neccesity for international communities to invest in them.

*To integrate the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria with global communities through greater co operation and bilateral relations.

*To bridge the communication gap between our Niger Delta Communities and the outside world.
